4. Third-Party AI Service — Data Sharing Disclosure
To provide card scanning, identification, valuation, and authenticity verification, the App sends certain data to a third-party AI service. Below we describe exactly what data is shared, with whom, and for what purpose:
4.1 What Data Is Sent
- Card images: Photos you capture or upload within the App for scanning and analysis.
- Analysis preferences: Your selected analysis style (identification, valuation, authenticity) and collector profile, so the AI can tailor its response.
No other personal data (such as your name, email, precise location, or device identifiers) is sent to the third-party AI service.
4.2 Who the Data Is Sent To
Card images and analysis preferences are sent to OpenAI (OpenAI, L.L.C.) for processing via their API. OpenAI processes this data solely to generate the card analysis results returned to you within the App. You can review OpenAI's privacy practices at openai.com/policies/privacy-policy.
4.3 Purpose of Sharing
Data is shared exclusively to perform the card analysis you request — including card identification, condition assessment, market valuation, rarity detection, and authenticity verification. The AI service does not use your data for advertising or any purpose unrelated to providing results within Scanner TCG AI.
4.4 User Consent
Before any card image is sent to the third-party AI service for the first time, the App will request your explicit permission. You may decline, in which case no data will be transmitted to the AI service and the scanning feature will not be available. You can revoke this consent at any time in the App's settings.
4.5 Data Protection by Third Party
We require that any third-party AI service provider we work with provides a level of data protection that is equal to or exceeds the protections described in this Privacy Policy. Data sent via the API is transmitted over encrypted (TLS) connections and is not used by OpenAI to train or improve their models.
5. Data Storage and Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information. All data transmissions, including card images sent for AI analysis, are encrypted using TLS. Card images are not stored on our servers longer than necessary to deliver your analysis results, unless you explicitly choose to save them to your scan history within the App.
6. Additional Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. Beyond the third-party AI service described in Section 4, we may share information with:
- Analytics partners: Anonymized, aggregated usage data only (e.g., number of scans performed, feature popularity). No card images or personal identifiers are shared.
- Infrastructure providers: Cloud hosting and storage services that process data on our behalf under strict data processing agreements.
- Law enforcement: Only when required by applicable law, regulation, or legal process.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access your personal data

- Request deletion of your data (including scan history and account information)
- Object to processing of your data
- Request data portability
- Withdraw consent for AI data processing at any time
